Susan M. Alverson began work for LSEM in 1985. She was initially in the County Unit focusing on housing, consumer and family law issues. In 1988, she transferred to the Housing Unit. She has represented clients in all matters affecting housing rights, such as federally subsidized housing, landlord-tenant, fair housing laws, homeownership issues, and homelessness. She has represented clients in federal court and in Missouri state court at the trial and appellate levels arguing a prevailing case before the Missouri Supreme Court. She is a community education speaker and legal education presenter on various aspects of housing law. In 1998 she became the co-managing attorney of the Housing Unit, and has been the managing attorney of the Housing Unit since 2005. Education: J.D. in 1985 from University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law; A.B. in 1980 from Washington University in St. Louis with majors in Anthropology, Religious Studies, and German Language and Literature.
